“If I create from the heart, nearly everything works; if from the head, almost nothing.” – Marc Chagall
I’ve always had an undying passion for anything and everything artistic since I was a small child, barely old enough to hold a crayon in my hand. I’ve also been fortunate to have an unexplainable driving force within me to study and teach myself all of the different styles of art that I love so much.
While working towards a degree in graphic design, somewhere along the way, I decided my heart wasn’t really in it. The rigidness I felt from it was smothering me so I shifted my focus to other various forms of art and creation. Eventually, I found that my soul just couldn’t be filled behind a computer screen, but I also found that it most definitely could be filled with a paintbrush.
I really enjoy working with various colors and mediums, as well as with my dreams and emotions, then mixing everything all together to achieve a whimsical, magical outcome in the end.
The creation process, for me, is purely intoxicating, sometimes maddening, chaotic, and therapeutic all at once. When I’m in my “zone”, hours can fly past me and it will truly feel like minutes.
I’m very fond of crystals, minerals, flowers, plants, and all things celestial, so you’ll find that the majority of my pieces are named after these natural muses of mine. I take great pleasure in the many wonders that mother nature lets us experience with her. I also happen to love the thought that perhaps one day one of my paintings could spark someone to notice that the many “ordinary things” in life that we tend to overlook, are indeed, extraordinary after all.
Somehow, over the years, and throughout life’s ups and downs, I’ve held on to that child-like happiness that art has always given to me. It’s been such an amazing blessing in my life each and every day and I feel honored and humbled to be able to share it with each of you.
I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it. I truly mean that from my heart and soul. Thank you.
